L'ODW-730-F1 a été conçu pour permettre la transmission de protocoles RS-422/485 point à point sur une liaison en fibre optique. La conception permet l'utilisation d'une large gamme de transceivers SFP (Small Form Pluggable) de Westermo, ce qui peut fournir des solutions avec, par exemple, une fibre unique ou des distances maximales de 120 km.

L'ODW-730 repose sur les nombreuses années d'expérience de Westermo en termes de protocoles série et peut être utilisé la fois sur les flux de données synchrones et asynchrones. Le circuit de terminaison configurable par switch élimine le besoin de résistances d'extrémité externes.

L'ODW est simple à installer, étant petit et équipé d'un simple clip de rail DIN intégral. L'unité est totalement transparente à tout débit ; aucune configuration n'est ainsi nécessaire. Les LED complètes fournissent un mode simple et rapide de détection d'éventuels problèmes réseau.
